Rstestlabs is a small studio. The list below is what we take on regularly, and just after it we say what we don't do, so you don't waste a call.
Portraits and headshots
A standard headshot session runs 45 minutes and uses two lighting setups against a grey or white backdrop. Clients from the office towers on West Georgia usually come in around noon and are back at work by 13:00. Sessions can also be booked on weekend mornings, which suits people who work weekday shifts.
The studio keeps a steamer and a small mirror on hand, and there's a coat rack by the door. Bring two or three tops if you're unsure what reads well on camera.
Product and catalogue work
We shoot products on a tabletop setup and can handle flat-lay or on-white styles. A typical catalogue of 20 items takes about three hours, including setup and cleanup. This is the service most used by sellers at the Vancouver Flea Market and by small restaurants along Hastings Street.
If your items are larger than a microwave, call first — the doorway to the studio is 90 cm wide, and oversize items may not fit through the Cordova Street entrance.
Small events and gatherings
Birthday dinners, engagement parties and small receptions with up to about 40 guests. The studio travels within Vancouver to venues in Yaletown, Kitsilano, Mount Pleasant and downtown. Events outside the city — Richmond, Burnaby, North Vancouver — are quoted separately based on travel time.
Event coverage is usually a two to four hour booking, and you'll get the edited set within ten business days.
What we do not do
- Weddings. For full-day wedding coverage in Vancouver, contact a dedicated wedding studio — the work is different enough that we'd rather you go to a specialist.
- Drone or aerial work. This requires a separate licence and insurance, which we don't carry.
- Commercial video or motion. We shoot stills only.
- Passport or immigration photos. Service Canada and most post offices in the city handle these directly.
- Large corporate events over 100 guests. We can refer you to a bigger Vancouver team if you ask.
